This privacy policy ("policy") will help you understand how Weather Extension ("us", "we", "our") uses and protects the data you provide to us when you visit and use Weather Extension ("website", "extension").
We reserve the right to change this policy at any given time, of which you will be promptly updated. If you want to make sure that you are up to date with the latest changes, we advise you to frequently visit this page.
What User Data We Collect
When you use our website or extensions, we may collect the following data:
- Your IP address.
- Your location data.
Why We Collect Your Data
We are collecting your data for several reasons:
- To provide weather forecasts and related features.
- To improve our services and products.
Weather Extension collects location data to display the weather. This information is only used for this purpose. Uninstalling removes the extension and its locally stored settings and notification history. Weather Pro account and purchase records are retained so an existing upgrade can be restored. Contact us about account data or deletion requests.
Safeguarding and Securing the Data
We use safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, and disclosure.
Links to Other Websites
Our website/extension contains links that lead to other websites. If you click on these links Weather Extension is not held responsible for your data and privacy protection. Visiting those websites is not governed by this privacy policy agreement. Make sure to read the privacy policy documentation of the website you go to from our website.
External Services
We use service providers to deliver weather, location lookup, maps, hosting, and security features. These providers may process location information, city searches, IP addresses, and other request information needed to provide their services. Third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies.
WeatherTab extension and web homepage
WeatherTab stores your weather preferences, selected location, and recent weather data locally in your browser. No WeatherTab account is required. The extension and web homepage store their settings separately. You can remove this data by uninstalling the extension or clearing the website’s browser storage, respectively.
We use your selected city or device location to provide local weather, with browser permission where required. The web homepage may use your IP address to suggest an approximate location. You can choose a different city at any time. Location and request information may be processed by our service providers to deliver these features.
Searches and AI prompts are handled by your selected provider under its terms and privacy policy. WeatherTab does not store these submissions or send them to WeatherExtension.com, collect browsing history, or change your browser’s default search settings.
Optional radar features use third-party map and weather data providers. There is no advertising or analytics code in the WeatherTab dashboard.
WeatherTab’s use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use this data to provide and maintain the disclosed features. We do not sell it, use it for personalized advertising or credit decisions, or share it for unrelated purposes.
