Choose a city
- Click the location name at the top left of Weather.
- Use the City, state, or postal code search field.
- Select a result. Check the region for cities with the same name. A new city is saved and becomes your default location; selecting an already saved city opens its forecast without changing the default.

Free Weather saves up to two locations. More saved locations Weather Pro feature raises the limit to 50. If you reach the free limit, remove a saved place before adding another, or upgrade to Pro.
Switch locations or set a default
Open Locations and select a saved place to view its forecast. The toolbar shows the default location’s temperature. To change the default, choose Edit and click the star beside another saved location. Weather saves the change and opens that forecast.
To remove a saved place, choose Edit, click its trash icon, and confirm Remove. Weather needs at least one location.
Wrong location?
Choose Use my location to find and set your default location. Automatic location can be approximate, especially with a VPN. Check your browser’s location permission or search for your city manually.
Searching on weatherextension.com does not change the extension’s saved location.
Use my location not working?
If Use my location is not working or takes too long, you may need to enable Location Services on your computer and allow your browser to access your location. Check your computer’s privacy or location settings, then reopen Weather and try again.
On Mac
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Make sure Location Services is on, then turn on your browser in the app list.
On Windows
On Windows 11, open Settings → Privacy & security → Location. Turn on Location services and Let apps access your location.
On Windows 10, open Settings → Privacy → Location. Turn on location for the device and Allow apps to access your location. Your browser may not appear as a separate app in the list.
You can also search for your city manually without enabling automatic location.
